The first Chilliwack River clean up will happen Saturday April17th.   The club has adopted a section of the river about a kilometer below the Slesse put-in.  it would be great to get a good turn-out for this event.  Perhaps it can be combined with a paddle.

Hmmm anyone up for a Sunday river clean up? All of us here at WCK would love to get in on it but have to work Saturday  Sad

Lets make sure we get lots of pictures of the paddlers cleaning up the river so we can use it in our crusade to get keys to the gates up the Chilliwack River Valley.

The dates are set by these guys: http://www.cleanrivers.ca/. They provide garbage bags, gloves, "pick-upers", dumpsters for the garbage, coffee and donuts.

Thanks to every-one so far who are volunteering to come out for the event.  The details are as follows:
We will register at the usual place, the Chilliwack Fish and Game Club, 48685 Chilliwack Rd.  (for those of you who don't know, it is not far from the Ponta Vista Cafe)  between 8:30 and 9:00 am on the 17th.  If there is interest we could consider a paddle, some people may want to check a few things out for the festival.

Yeah I'll be up for paddling something too. Don't mind taking a group out on on the classic run or joining a stronger group on the Canyon run. Either way is a paddling.

Things are definitely on for Saturday.  Thanks to every-one who has volunteered to come out.  I 'll see you there between 8:30 and 9:00 at the fish and game club.  We can sort out who is paddling which section then.   Can some-one  connect with Tom with a ride and other Vancouver  based drivers try to car pool?  I tend to go via Surrey and Highway 10.
