Those new faerry rates are going to make it harder to bring demo boats now, but the lure of a keg does pull some weight . . .

The planning is underway...hope to see many of you at the Surf Junction Campground Sept 24/25 for a great time with other paddlers. Don't forget your bathing suit - the hot tub/sauna is great after a big day at the beach. No competition, but we're planning on listing the best beaches for paddlers to gather at depending on conditions and ability. Some ideas in the works...beer kegs (popular at the Puntledge so why not here?) & a local band to play on Sat night.
We are hoping that anyone with a connection for demo boats - surf and/or whitewater will contact us through our website at www.surfkayak.org More specific details to follow..... |

Hello all,
I would like to announce that the Canadian Freestyle Kayak Committee (CFKC) is looking for nominations for a new chairperson/president. Nominee's should be very motivated and will be deeply involved in the growth and development of Freestyle Kayaking in Canada. Their main duties will be to direct the development of the freestyle team through management of the CFKC members and their respective fields. Basically we're looking for someone who is well organized to help remind everyone what they need to be doing and represent us at meetings etc, which are all online. Note that this is a volunteer position and who ever is voted in will receive no payment of any kind. Nominations can be submitted on the CFKC's newly created facebook page. Everyone is encouraged to join the group and voice their opinion. Here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=101725373220062&ref=ts Thanks and I hope to see some nominations up there! I just got back from this course. It was great and would recommend it to anyone like me who is interested in learning more about river safety and rescue techniques. Thanks to Kay and Rob.
